Item description from the seller :

HeliMate – 50-Pack of 8mm x 1000mm Helical Crack Stitching Bars

Grade 316 Stainless Steel | Structural Masonry Reinforcement System

Overview :

HeliMate’s 8mm × 1000mm helical bars are precision-formed masonry reinforcement elements, manufactured exclusively from marine-grade 316 stainless steel. Designed for structural crack stitching and load redistribution, these bars conform to Australian construction standards and are suitable for use in seismic zones, marine environments, and heritage restoration.

Technical Specifications :

• Quantity: 50 bars per pack

• Bar Diameter: 8.0 mm (±0.1 mm)

• Bar Length: 1000 mm

• Material: Cold-formed AISI 316 stainless steel

• Minimum Yield Strength: > 940 MPa

• Ultimate Tensile Strength: > 1400 MPa

• Helical Pitch: ~30 mm

• Grout Compatibility: Non-shrink cementitious or epoxy grout

Installation Applications :

• Horizontal crack stitching across fractured masonry

• Reinforcement around openings (windows, doors)

• Load redistribution above lintels and between wall sections

• Suitable for double-wythe and cavity wall structures

• Can be installed in pre-cut 8–10 mm wide x 30–40 mm deep horizontal bed-joint chases

Installation Guide :

See diagram below for standard horizontal crack stitching layout. Typically, bars are installed at 300–600 mm vertical centers depending on wall height and crack pattern. Bars are fully embedded in grout and extend minimum 500 mm either side of the crack.

Standards Compliance :

• AS/NZS 2699.3:2020 – Wall ties and connectors for masonry

• AS 3700:2018 – Masonry Structures

• AS/NZS ISO 3506-1:2020 – Mechanical properties of corrosion-resistant stainless steels

• BS EN 845-1 / 998-2 / 1996-1-1 (for international compatibility)

• BS EN 845-1 / 998-2 / 1996-1-1 (for international compatibility)

Key Advantages :

• Superior corrosion resistance for harsh environments

• Cold-formed for high yield and flexibility

• Enhances wall ductility and crack resistance

• Mechanically interlocks with grout – no mechanical anchors required

• Low-profile, non-disruptive retrofit method
